From Ranking to Discovery – what SEO looks like in 2026. Listen to our latest video on this hot topic!

If your SEO strategy in 2026 looks exactly like it did three years ago, I hate to tell you this, but you might be missing something, because people aren’t just Googling anymore. They’re asking AI. Think about how you search for something a couple of years ago. You type in a few keywords. Google would give you a list of links and you would start clicking. Today, someone might ask ChatGPT, Gemini, what are the best companies that do X? And they may never even make it to a traditional search result. The search bar has basically gotten a personality. So yes, SEO still matters, but I think we need to stop thinking about SEO as simply how do I get to number one on Google? The bigger question here is, how do I make sure that my brand is discoverable wherever my customers are looking for answers? That could be Google. It could be an AI search tool. It could be YouTube, it might be Reddit. It could even be someone asking for a recommendation. And here’s the part that I think businesses sometime overlook. AI can’t recommend you if it can’t understand you. Your website needs to clearly communicate who you are, what you do, who you serve, and what makes you different. And it needs to have useful, credible information that AI can actually understand and reference. And no, this doesn’t mean SEO is dead. It’s quite the opposite. It means SEO is becoming broader. We’re moving from simply optimizing for search engines to optimizing for discovery. So if your SEO strategy is still just keywords, rankings and trying to get that number one spot, it might be time to zoom out, because in 2026, the goal isn’t just to rank. The goal is to be found. And that’s a very different marketing strategy.
